In a move that reinforces its commitment to global partnerships and industry-academe collaboration, Rizal Technological University (RTU) welcomed delegates from leading Japanese companies, Xtreme Offshore Outsourcing Inc., and Adecco Co., Ltd., for a visit to explore potential areas of collaboration.
The engagement was initiated by the university’s International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO), headed by Assoc. Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, underscoring RTU’s proactive approach in building strong global linkages that benefit both faculty and students.
Representing Xtreme Offshore Outsourcing Inc. (Prime Manpower Japan) were Koichi Koh, President, and Sheena Marie Cebu, Senior Global Business Development Officer. Joining from Adecco Co., Ltd. were Tohru Naito, Taiki Ishizaki, and Akifumi Kobayashi.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), who expressed support for initiatives that enhance student development and international exposure.
Discussions centered on potential collaboration in faculty exchange and the development of internship programs with employment pathways. These initiatives aim to provide RTU faculty with opportunities for international academic engagement and to enable students to gain practical industry experience in Japan that could lead to future employment.
RTU officials emphasized that such partnerships play a vital role in bridging education and industry, ensuring that graduates are equipped with globally relevant skills and competencies.
The visit marks a promising step toward forging long-term partnerships between RTU and Japanese industry leaders, further positioning the university as a hub for globally competitive and industry-ready graduates.
