Rizal Technological University (RTU) President Dr. Ma. Eugenia M. Yangco joined fellow state university and college (SUC) leaders from across the National Capital Region at the opening ceremonies of the 12th PASUC-NCR Regional Culture and Arts Festival 2026. Held under the theme “Pagsaulog: Pagpasidungog sa Aton Panublion, Kultura, kag mga Bahandi,” the event brought together academic officials, cultural advocates, and student delegations from member institutions in a celebration of Filipino artistic and cultural heritage.
Organized by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges – National Capital Region (PASUC-NCR), the festival serves as a premier platform for SUCs to showcase the richness and diversity of Filipino culture through artistic, literary, and cultural competitions — fostering creative excellence, regional identity, and cultural appreciation among students and academic communities alike.
A highlight of the program was the keynote address delivered by Hon. Jude Avorque Acidre, Representative of the Tingog Partylist and Chairperson of the House Committee on Higher and Technological Education, who underscored the vital role of culture and the arts in promoting social cohesion, honoring heritage, and advancing holistic education. As an active PASUC-NCR member, RTU reaffirms its commitment to cultural awareness, artistic expression, and the preservation of the nation’s rich heritage — pillars of its vision for well-rounded academic excellence.
