Carrying a Legacy Forward: Patty Javier Sits Down with RTU to Talk Partnerships and Scholarships

Rizal Technological University recently welcomed Ms. Patty Javier, daughter of the late Pasig Congressman Rufino “Pinong” Javier, for a discussion on potential partnership programs and scholarship grants. This meeting carries both institutional and personal significance.

Ms. Javier sat down with Ms. Rhoda Malabanan, Head of the University’s Scholarship and Grants Office, and Dr. Ma. Eugenia Yangco, RTU’s president, to explore ways the Javier family might collaborate with the university in supporting Filipino students who are working hard to earn a college degree but lack the financial means to do so.

The late Congressman Javier was known for his dedication to the people of Pasig, and this initiative appears to be an extension of that same commitment — this time carried forward by his daughter. For many families in the region, the name Javier has long been associated with public service, and a scholarship program bearing that legacy would hold meaning well beyond its monetary value.

While the discussions are still in their early stages, the meeting itself marks a promising step. If a formal partnership takes shape, it could open doors for a new generation of RTU students — young people who, with the right support, are more than capable of turning their potential into something lasting.
