Building Bridges: RTU and Joncyr Group Lead Multi-Sectoral Convergence for Future Collaboration

Rizal Technological University (RTU) marked a significant milestone in advancing inclusive innovation, community empowerment, and sustainable development as it formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Joncyr Group, together with a dynamic consortium of industry leaders, technology innovators, humanitarian organizations, and local government and community partners.

The MOU signing signifies a bold step toward strengthening collaboration among academe, industry, government, and community stakeholders, underscoring RTU’s commitment to translating knowledge into meaningful social and economic impact.

The partnership brought together Advance Energy Technologies (Singapore); Nextforge Innovations Consultancy Corp.; Kintara; American Asian International Ministry, Inc.; AET/Lumiel; Humanitarian Mission and Outreach for Indigenous Peoples; the Person with Disability Affairs Division (PDAD) of Mandaluyong City; and Mandaluyong City’s Samahan ng mga Magkakapitbahay—forming a unified platform for innovation, advocacy, and inclusive development across sectors.

RTU was represented by Assoc. Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO).

The collaboration aims to foster innovation, renewable and advanced energy solutions, technology transfer, capacity-building initiatives, and community-based development programs, particularly benefiting marginalized sectors such as indigenous peoples and persons with disabilities.

This alliance also strengthens RTU’s role as a catalyst for real-world solutions, where academic expertise intersects with industry practice, humanitarian advocacy, and local governance.

Assoc. Prof. Estocada expressed his enthusiasm for the historic convergence. “This partnership represents more than a signed agreement—it is a shared commitment to co-create solutions that matter. When academe, industry, and community move forward together, innovation becomes inclusive, development becomes sustainable, and progress becomes transformative,” Estocada said.

He emphasized that RTU envisions the MOU as a living partnership—one that nurtures long-term collaboration, empowers communities, and advances national and global development goals.

As RTU and its partners embark on this collaborative journey, the MOU serves as a blueprint for future-ready education, socially responsive innovation, and people-centered development. Through collective expertise and shared purpose, the partnership aspires to build resilient communities, sustainable technologies, and opportunities that extend beyond institutional boundaries.

This landmark convergence reaffirms RTU’s mission to build bridges among sectors and institutions that connect knowledge with action, innovation with compassion, and vision with impact—for the benefit of present and future generations.
