Tap In, Ride On: RTU and Beep Philippines Collaborate for Inclusive Transportation

Rizal Technological University (RTU) has collaborated with Beep Philippines to enhance transportation accessibility for its community members. The collaboration was officially established on December 1-2, 2025, at the RTU Mandaluyong Main Campus through an agreement between Dr. Rodrigo D.P. Tomas, Director of the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs Services (OSAAS), and Mr. Rodel Cruz, Growth and Strategic Partnership Manager of Beep Philippines.

The partnership introduces the Beep Card application, specifically designed for students, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and senior citizens within the RTU community. These concessionary cards provide discounted fares that significantly reduce the financial burden of daily commutes, supporting students’ academic journeys while upholding the mobility rights of PWDs and senior citizens. The initiative reflects RTU’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring that transportation costs do not become barriers to education and daily participation in university life.

This collaboration strengthens RTU’s welfare services by integrating accessible transportation solutions into campus support systems. The program aligns with national goals for sustainable and inclusive public transit infrastructure, making everyday travel more efficient for the entire university community. By providing seamless access to Metro Manila’s public transportation network, RTU demonstrates its forward-thinking approach to student welfare and sets a precedent for other educational institutions to prioritize accessibility in their support services. The partnership represents a significant milestone in creating a more connected, equitable, and empowered campus environment where mobility and dignity go hand in hand.
