Student and Alumni Services Group Enhances Institutional Capability through OSAAS Tactical Planning

In line with Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) core value of Excellence, the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs Services (OSAAS) cluster revisited its direction towards the reinforcement of institutional priorities, strategically planning developments for the coming academic year.

On October 15-17, 2025, at Upgrade Beach Resort in Infanta, Quezon, the OSAAS Cluster conducted its Tactical Planning with the aim to enhance the efficiency, responsiveness, and impact of RTU’s student and alumni services. Through this initiative, the cluster, led by Dr. Rodrigo DP. Tomas, Dean of OSAAS, gathered the unit heads and staff members to work together on the realignment of their programs with the institutional objectives set by the University. The gathering was also supported and attended by Dr. Kristine Y. Opulencia, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA).

The cluster started its tactical planning by reviewing the common issues and challenges its units encountered in the current year. Each unit shared its experiences, which led to a thematic analysis of the issues to address and improve the units’ procedures, mitigating the risks and maximizing the opportunities for improvement. This strategic review allowed the entire cluster to work together in addressing the collective issues of the units under OSAAS.

The discussions that followed focused on the cluster’s preparation for the anticipated CHED Memorandum Order on Student Affairs and Services and the changes that will be implemented along with it. The cluster also discussed the role of the student and alumni services group in the university’s world-class aspirations. These discussions signify the OSAAS’s intent in fulfilling its crucial role in the University’s improvement and continuous growth.

As a conclusion to the OSAAS Cluster’s tactical planning, each unit revisited and revamped its projects and programs, realigning each proposal to Pandayang Rizalia’s current priorities and objectives. This means that student and alumni services will be more student-focused in the coming years.

The OSAAS Tactical Planning reflects Pandayang Rizalia’s commitment to excellence in service delivery, transparency in planning, and the value that RTU places on institutional collaboration.
