Tagbilaran City, Bohol — Faculty from Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) Department of Human Resource Management joined educators and researchers from across the nation in a transformative three-day Training Workshop on Best Practices in the Teaching of Research: Blending Pedagogical Techniques, Smart Technologies, and Generative AI, held on September 25–27, 2025 at the Metrocentre Hotel and Convention Center.
Organized by the Asian Society of Teachers for Research, Inc. (ASTR, Inc.), the workshop provided intensive training on integrating smart technologies and Generative AI into research pedagogy. With Dr. Genaro V. Representing RTU were Instr. John Carlo A. Consignado, Instr. Shentelle Lei R. Masalonga, and Instr. Micah Quilang, who actively participated in the hands-on training. Their engagement underscores the University’s continuing efforts to prepare faculty to guide students toward producing globally relevant and publishable research.
“Equipping faculty with Generative AI skills means preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape,” emphasized the organizers, reflecting the transformative vision of the training.
Beyond technical applications, the program stressed the importance of responsible and ethical AI use throughout the research process—from thesis writing and oral defenses to research translation and formulating research questions.
This milestone reflects Rizal Technological University’s strong commitment to innovation in research and education. By empowering faculty with advanced yet ethical practices, RTU continues to cultivate future-ready scholars and professionals for national and global impact.
