RTU Delegation Joins 2nd Quarter Seminar of Philippine Association for Government Budget Administration

 

July 2–5, 2025 — Key representatives from Rizal Technological University (RTU) actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Seminar and Meeting of PAGBA, held at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. With the theme, “Building a Resilient Public Financial Management for Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Growth,” the seminar gathered budget and finance professionals from various government institutions across the country.

Representing RTU were  Dr. Eugenia G. Samarista, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and Head of the Budget Management Unit of RTU-Pasig; Instr. Jezalynn C. Sumilla, CBEA Faculty Member and Deputy Director of the Accounting Office; and Ms. Jennalyn V. Abainza, Budgeting Assistant of the Budget and Management Office.

The seminar served as a platform for capacity building and knowledge sharing, with sessions designed to address emerging challenges in budgeting, procurement, financial reporting, and accountability in government agencies. The event also emphasized strategic approaches to fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth through sound fiscal management.

Highlighting the conference was the presence of PAGBA President and Trustee, Zenaida M. Bolor-Chang, CPA, who welcomed participants and reaffirmed PAGBA’s mission to continuously enhance the competencies of budget and finance professionals in the public sector.

The RTU delegation expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage with fellow public servants, deepen their expertise, and contribute to policy discussions that impact public service delivery at both national and local levels.
