T.A.L.A Astrochats Series of Webinar

The last three episodes for the 2020s AstroChats series of webinar was renamed as Supernovamber Astrochats as we invited three distinct resource experts in the field of Astronomy. We partnered with the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) and the MAPUA University. This Supernovamber Astrochats was sponsored also by the Internation Astronomical Union – Office of Astronomy for Development (IAU-OAD).
On November 6, 2020, Dr. Utane Sawangwit, a researcher from NARIT discussed the rather complex Cosmology. He tackled about the concept of birth, development and end-state of the universe based on the available research and theories. Dr. Sawangwit mentioned that it is with studying cosmology that we bound beyond the reach of the contemporary physics and understand the mysteries that only the universe knows yet.

Dr. Puji Irawati, researcher from NARIT discussed about the very interesting Stellar Evolution. There, she presented the basic concept of stellar development and death. She is an expert in the stellar evolution research projects. She also mentioned that while we continue to progress with our stellar study, there are lots of things that need to be researched especially in asteroseismology.

For the last episode of Supernovamber Astrochats 2020, Dr. Ernest Macalalad, RD Leader at the Center for Astronomy Research and Development, and faculty at the MAPU University discussed the Science of Space Environment. Dr. Macalalad is known for his extensive research in space science and technology. He mentioned about the importance of investing into space science research as the impacts of solar matter are not yet realized in the Philippines.
