THE BS IN ASTRONOMY TECHNOLOGY IS NOW INCLUDED IN THE DOST-Science Education Institute Science & Technology UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Posted on August 24, 2018

Congratulations to the Department of Earth and Space Sciences!

Our BS in Astronomy program is now included in the priority Science and Technology programs of the DOST-SEI for the grant of undergraduate scholarships. According to the letter of Dr. Josette Biyo, Director of SEI, the request “was elevated to the National Technical and Selection Committee (NTSC) and the Advisory Committee on Science and Technology Scholarships…” Said Committees, according to Dy Biyo, approved the request effective the First Semester, Academic Year 2018-2019.

The persistence and grit of the Department, headed by the Department Head Prof. Ryan Guido, has paid off. This was achieved overnight. The Department had to face a lot of rejections and failures before the application for inclusion among the priority programs for scholarships has been approved by the DOST. They simply did not give up!

The RizalTech now has 10 programs in the priority list of DOST-SEI. They are Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mathematics Teaching, Mechanical Engineering, Psychology, Science Teaching (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, Biology and Chemistry), and Statistics.
