HUMAN RESOURCE AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER

        I.            Brief Description

 The Center for Astronomy Research and Development will provide the facility to harness knowledge about space science and technologies. 

 The center is the Hub for astronomy and space science technology to cater students and professionals who would want to gather astronomical data, test, evaluate, analyze, interpret, and utilize the data for their researches and/or thesis/dissertations related in the field of astronomy and space science.

      II.             Scope of work

 Under the supervision of the Program Officer of the Center for Astronomy Research and Development, the vacant positions will deliver service components of the center, non-R&D, and research and development for the Astronomical Near-Earth Observation Light Pollution Project.

    III.            Vacant Positions

 The Center for Astronomy Research and Development (CARD) under the Science for Change Program of the Niche Center for the Regions (NICER) Program of the Department of Science and Technology is need of highly competent and with potential applicants for the following positions:

1.      One (1) Science Research Specialist II

Salary Grade :

QUALIFICATIONS STANDARD

EDUCATION :

Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy/Physics/Space Science, with Masteral Units in Astronomy/Space Science

TRAINING :

Four (4) hours of relevant training

EXPERIENCE :

One (1) year of relevant research experience 

ELIGIBILITY :

 

PLACE OF ASSIGNMENTS :

RTU - CENTER FOR ASTRONOMY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

DURATION

Two (2) Months (subject to renewal)

2.      Two (2) Project Assistant II

Salary Grade :

QUALIFICATIONS STANDARD

EDUCATION :

Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy/Physics/Space Science, with Master’s Units in Astronomy/Space Science is preferred.

TRAINING :

Four (4) hours of relevant training

EXPERIENCE :

One (1) year of relevant research experience

ELIGIBILITY :

DURATION

Two (2) Months (subject to renewal)

3.      One (1) Computer Programmer II

Salary Grade :

QUALIFICATIONS STANDARD

EDUCATION :

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology or any science related courses with strong programming background

TRAINING :

Four (4) hours of relevant training

EXPERIENCE :

One (1) year of relevant research experience

ELIGIBILITY :

Career-Service (Sub-Professional), First Level Eligibility

DURATION

Two (2) Months (subject to renewal)
