MESSAGE FROM THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT
To the Batch 2019 Graduates of the CEIT Ladderized and Technology Programs and the 2019 Graduates of CAS, their parents and guardians:

To the Batch 2019 Graduates of the CEIT Ladderized and Technology Programs and the 2019 Graduates of CAS, their parents and guardians: ​

On behalf of this school community that I represent, please accept my sincerest apology for the inconvenience, displeasure and impairment that you have experienced in the afternoon of June 14, 2019, during the graduation event scheduled for CEIT and CAS at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). 

Human errors, procedural, communication and technical problems are confronting any organization, and school organizations are not exempted from that. As President of the University, I immediately called for a meeting with the Vice Presidents and the Organizing Committee, the key players of this annual event, so that we can get into the bottom of this as soon as we can. Upon digging into what really transpired, it was found out that the CEIT Technology graduates were not specifically counted for the June 14, 2019 second batch, but for the third batch on that same day, contrary to the information that they have received; hence this resulted to the unexpected overflow of people. 

We see it now as a valuable learning experience that we will use in the conduct of similar events. Your anguish may be irreparable, but we deem it proper to focus now on the things that we need to do to rectify the mistake and to do it again properly by organizing the re-staging of the 48th Commencement Exercises for the 2019 Graduates of CEIT Technology and Ladderized Programs, as well as the 2019 Graduates of CAS Programs. This will be held at the same venue where you had your graduation last June 14, 2019. We will inform you on the exact schedule as soon as we have received confirmation from the PICC. The University Registrar will prepare your actual diploma so that we can already hand this over to you at the PICC stage. This may not be enough to make things right, but it is our way of mending what was broken. 

In the meantime, we would like to do an online survey to all those concerned from CEIT and CAS so that we can have clear view of our expected guests at the venue. Both parents or two (2) of your guardians or relatives may accompany you to the re-staging of your graduation. We are asking you to visit the RTU website to check the online response which is to be posted today until June 30, 2019. This will help eliminate uncertainty and ensure your participation in the ceremonies. It is vital that the University can provide the best of what you deserve to prove once again our commitment and uphold the ideals of the University. You may also coordinate with your Department Heads for details and concerns on this event.
