RTU collaborates with Taiwan’s Asia University toward Internationalization through Dual/Joint and Twinning Degree Program
May 31, 2019
In adherence to the commitment of Rizal Technological University toward internationalization of Philippine higher education, the RTU through its previously signed Memorandum of Understanding with Taiwan’s Asia University and continuing effort of the Instructional Materials and Development Office (IMDO) with the help of the Office of the Vice President for Development and Administration (OVPDA) creates another ground for more collaborative projects and opportunities for faculty members and students of both universities.
The team led by Prof. Nilmar I. Moreno (IMDO Head) together with Dr. Rodolfo P. Aldeon Jr. (VPDA), Prof. Nouvie Aguirre and Prof. Paolo Gaspar has successfully steered to the discussion and preliminary benchmarking activity on curriculum, instruction, dual/joint and twinning degree program of RTU and AU like Psychology, Biotechnology, Creative Design (Animation and Graphic Design) and Business. Aside from academic and research collaboration, AU offered more partnership activities particularly in the employment of RTU alumni and faculty as adjunct faculty members, free tuition fee certificate programs for faculty and students, and sustainable leadership extension services.
Further, the two universities planned to proceed with the initial step toward dual/joint degree by identifying the most competitive and mature programs of each university and conduct preliminary assessment of the strengths, weaknesses and milestones of every program. The outcomes shall be submitted and referred to both universities for more comprehensive feasibility and analysis.
The next visit will focus on another MoU for more profound connection and preparation for dual/joint degree program and extension services.
