OLD FLUORESCENT LIGHTS BOXES  AS VEGETABLE PLOTS

Posted on February 13, 2018

At one time I went to the bodega of discarded items at the back of the LMP Building.  There I saw dozens of fluorescent light boxes.  I asked them to be brought to the shops in the MAB basement to be painted green by Jersky Arada.  Afterwards, they were brought to Alex Quilang who filled them with garden soil.  Alex planted vegetable seeds which soon grew nicely into healthy vegetables without the use of chemicals.

With a little imagination, we again recycled materials to give them fresh use.

RIZALTECH DANCE ARTISTS PERFORM AT THE CULTURAL CENTER OF THE PHILIPPINES

Posted on February 7, 2018

For two consecutive years the RizalTech Dance Troupe has performed in the Pasinaya Open House Arts Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.  Prof. Reydora Flordeliza, the Dean of IPE and the Director of Cultural Affairs, informed me that the dances our Dance Troupe perform are developed through meticulous research on the indigenous dances.  Even the costumes and the body markings of the performers are faithful and authentic representations of the original.

To celebrate their achievement I prepared a meal of big and soft pandesal and sardines.

We are very proud of you!

SUPER BLUE BLOOD MOON IN THE RIZALTECH

Posted on February 3, 2018

On January 31, 2018 the student, employees and guests, hundreds of them, witnessed the super blue blood moon.  The Department of Earth and Space Sciences had to bring out all available telescopes to the Quadrangle and the R and D Roof Deck.

For sure, future Astronomy students and faculty of Astronomy will bring out their telescopes in the next super blue blood moon in 2037.
