Mechanical Engineering Equipment Arrives, the STEAM POWER PLANT SIMULATION UNIT

Posted on April 11, 2016

The new equipment for Mechanical Engineering which we have purchased through public bidding has arrived.  When I visited the ME laboratory the equipment is still wrapped in plastic.  The steam power Plant Simulation Unit provides the students the necessary foundation in the operation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of a steam power plant.  According to Engr. Gerry Cabrera, Head of the ME Department, “The operating behavior of the simulation unit is similar to a real power plant.  It is interfaced with a computer with data acquisition software.  The software will enable the display of measured values on a PC where the recording and saving of data gathered is possible.  The measured values are directly transmitted to a PC through a USB port.”

The unit includes a steam generating unit, a steam turbine and condenser including the accessories and instruments for monitoring the system and safety devices.

RizalTech Reduces Fees

Posted on April 5, 2016

This one is something unusual: a higher education institution reducing its fees.

Effective the 1st Semester of School Year 2016-2017 the RizalTech is going to suspend the collection of the Facilities Fee (PhP 200 per semester) and the Library ID fee (PhP100).

We will begin using a one-ID system for the University starting the aforesaid School Year.
