Women’s Badminton (Finals)
Adamson University (AdU) hailed as the Champion for the women’s badminton yesterday, Oct. 27 at the Hypermart’s "The Court". From AdU’s overall matches, they got 6 wins and 1 loss.
Iloilo Doctors College (IDC) placed as the 1st runner up with 5 wins and 1 loss. Third place goes to Saint Louis University (SLU) with 4 wins and 2 losses. Bagging the 4th place with 3 wins and 3 losses was the University of St. La Salle. Gaining 2 wins and 4 losses was Silliman University (SU),declared as the 5th placer. Central Philippines College (CPU) placed 6th with 1 win and 5 losses while Assumption College (AC) was the 7th and the last placer with 0 wins and 6 losses.
From their last day’s game, AdU scored straight 21 beating AC and SU. IDC also scored 21 all the way beating SU. Between the match of AdU vs. AC, AC got 8-12, 8-8, and 14-15. SU scored 8-11,10-2 and 3-3 when they competed against IDC, while they also scored 17-13, 12-11 and 4-3 against AdU.
SLU won over AC with straight 21 while AC scored 11-11, 14-17 and 17-19. Between SLU and CPU, CPU scored 21-21 for the 1st singles, 17-10 for doubles and 16-21-4 for the 2nd singles, while SLU scored 16-15, 21-21 and 21-16-21.
During an interview, the champions for women’s badminton, AdU said that it really was not their expectation to win because there were other Universities that were good. (Catherine Buling)
