Computer-Generated Imagery and Animation
Seminar-Workshop

         PSUCCESS conducted a Seminar Workshop on Computer-Generated Imagery and Animation at the CEIT Computer Laboratory at the Rizal Technological University last September 12, 2008. There were forty three (43) participants who attended the seminar-workshop coming from different universities and colleges namely; Marinduque State College, University of Rizal System, Quezon City Polytechnic University, Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology, Rizal Technological University, Bulacan State University, Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Interactive Learning Center of UPLB, Batangas State University, Manila Cathedral School, Philippine Normal University, Marikina Polytechnic College, Caritas Don Bosco School, and Technological University of the Philippines.

         The course was basically designed for hobbyists, artists, teachers and whoever has an inclination and desire to learn 3D animation through the different software. The workshop guided participants on how to create and deliver computer graphics using the open source software Blender 2.46. The workshop had an emphasis on learning to deploy Blender 2.46 as a tool for computer animation.

          The seminar-workshop, which was originally planned to accommodate only up to forty (40) pre-registered participants, was able to accommodate three (3) walk-ins who came from different regions.

          The workshop started with a prayer led by the PSUCCESS secretary, Miss Flu Garcia. Then, an opening/welcome remarks was delivered by no other than the PSUCCESS president, Dr. Carmela Perez. The speaker was introduced by the External Vice President, Dr. Ma. Eugenia Yangco.

           The speaker, Architect Ted de Paz, was trained at the Korean Chamber of Commerce Human Resourse Development Institute, Chungnam, South Korea for CAD/CAM Graphics applications. He is an expert in open source 3D software Blender 2.46. Architect de Paz is also the Subject Area Chair in the RTU College of Architecture.
           

           The seminar-workshop started at 8:00 am and ended at 6:00 pm.
